WHAT ARE THREAD LIFTS?
A non-surgical thread lift is a skin-tightening method that uses smooth or barbed surgical threads. A face lift with threads, on the other hand, uses thicker and barbed threads to lift sagging areas.
This method has become widely used globally in recent years and can be applied to various areas on the face, neck, and body. It is an easy and safe way to improve the appearance of sagging cheeks and jawline.
The threads placed under the skin stimulate collagen production within a few weeks, which reduces wrinkles, increases skin elasticity, and tightens sagging areas. In addition to the support provided by the threads left in the tissue, the body’s natural reaction to a foreign object and the effect of the needle insertion also contribute to skin rejuvenation. For patients with more significant sagging, wrinkles, and loss of elasticity, a lift using specialized threads called “Cogs” can be performed to achieve excellent non-surgical results.
The procedure can be performed on both male and female patients and can be combined with other cosmetic treatments like Botox and fillers.
WHAT AREAS ARE EFFECTIVE FOR A THREAD LIFT?
- Adding volume to the cheek area
- Improving the jawline
- Lifting the eyebrows
- Reducing sagging under the chin
- Improving the nasolabial folds (the lines from the nose to the mouth)
WHAT PRODUCTS ARE USED IN A THREAD LIFT?
Since there are many different types of threads and application methods, an expert physician with experience in this field should decide which one is most suitable for you. The threads used are PDO (polydioxanone) surgical threads, which have been proven safe for health.
HOW IS A THREAD LIFT PERFORMED?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia without the need for general anesthesia. The areas for treatment are determined and marked. The special threads are placed under the skin using thin needles in the marked areas.
Aside from minor bruising that can occur in some patients, there are no expected complications. After the procedure, you can return to your daily life and apply makeup. It is recommended to avoid trauma, rubbing, massaging, and sleeping on your face for a few weeks afterward. Its effects are reported to last for up to 2 years, and the procedure can be repeated if needed.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF A THREAD LIFT?
It is a simple and very safe procedure. No serious side effects have been observed in numerous applications and scientific studies. Swelling, bruising, and tenderness may occur in the treated area. With some methods, small dimples may form where the threads enter. All of these effects typically subside within 5-7 days.
